Early Spring
Happy Mother’s Day
Turned out to be a nice one! Much cooler than yesterday, steady wind and low humidity but still warm in the sun.
Lush Spring Day
It feels almost tropical outside today, warm with very high humidity. Everything is wet from the overnight rain, making for a nice deep green. I’m glad spring is finally here.
The Daffodils are Bloomin!
04/13/08 The daffodils are really blooming like crazy. It’s really amazing because it’s been so chilly over the past couple of weeks. Maybe 60 tops, but mostly in the 40′s and 50′s. Our lawn still looks like a pair of worn out jeans and these things are flourishing. Very cool.
First Signs of Spring
03/30/08 The little white flowers are what I think are called Snow Drops. They always come up early every year before anything else and show up all over the back lawn. Very cute. The yellow flowers are daffodils from bulbs that we planted last year. They are exposed to a lot of sun on the south side of the house which would seem to attribute to their blooming despite the cold. The stone crop that we planted on the side of the house also seem to be doing really well also. I imagine they taste like a sour apple candy to a deer.
